Frequently asked questions

Vetting, payment, tracking, incidents — the things shippers and transporters ask first.

How does FreightX vet transporters?

Every transporter uploads company, vehicle and driver documents (CIPC registration, GIT insurance, RC1 papers, roadworthy certificates, driver ID, licence and PDP). Our team verifies each one before the transporter can see a single load — and expired documents automatically block a truck from being declared on a trip.

What stops a vetted transporter subcontracting my load?

Before loading, the transporter declares the exact truck, trailers and driver. The registration numbers and driver ID must match the verified documents already on file — no match, no trip. The vetted truck and driver are provably the ones moving your cargo.

How does payment work?

FreightX is wallet-first: you top up a prepaid wallet (1 credit = R1) by card or EFT through Paystack. When a transporter accepts your load the trip amount is held in escrow against your wallet; you confirm delivery and it releases to the transporter, minus the platform commission. Transporters cash out to a verified bank account.

What is a bulk draw-down?

Post total tonnage at a rate per ton. Vetted transporters draw down trip by trip; each loading weighbridge slip sets that trip's amount (loaded tons × rate) and funds it instantly from your wallet. The offloading slip verifies the load arrived intact.

Can I track my load?

Yes — the driver app streams GPS positions while the trip is live. Your live map access ends automatically once the load is delivered and the signed POD is on file.

What happens if something goes wrong on the road?

The driver reports an incident from the app in one tap (type, photo, location). That freezes the trip's escrow, alerts FreightX and both parties immediately, and opens the insurance claim workflow. Theft and hijacking also go out by SMS.

What does it cost?

Posting loads is free. FreightX charges the transporter a commission per completed trip — a percentage with a minimum fee — deducted from the escrow release. There are no subscriptions.

Is there a client or transporter app?

No. Clients and transporters use the web platform; the only mobile app is the FreightX Driver app, built for milestones, weighbridge slips, POD capture, GPS and incident reporting — and it works offline.
